Hoax e-mail businessman still missing

Muziwendoda Kunene, the businessman at the centre of the alleged ANC hoax e-mail saga, is missing - for the second time in less than a month.

However, this time Kunene\'s wife, Belinda, believes his disappearance is more sinister, as he apparently feared for his life and that he was allegedly under constant surveillance. Gauteng police spokesperson Mary Martins-Engelbrecht said that a missing persons docket had been opened after IT sales representative Kunene was reported missing on Saturday by his wife. The Star reports that late last year, Kunene was implicated in the alleged hoax e-mails that formed part of the succession battle in the ruling ANC, and which has claimed the careers of some of SA\'s top spooks, including suspended National Intelligence Agency boss Billy Masetlha. The alleged hoax e-mails are still the subject of an ongoing probe by Zolile Ngcakani, the Inspector-General (IG) of intelligence. Kunene was arrested and his home raided by the IG\'s office early in December 2005. He was rearrested after investigators claimed he had defied a search-and-seizure warrant by refusing to answer their questions. Full report in The Star
