Workshop to focus on deep water coral taxonomy

* A three day workshop will take place in Cape Town on the 6-8 March focusing on the use of morphological features to classify deep-water corals. A paucity in foundational knowledge poses a potential hindrance to SA’s progress on effective management of deep-water coral ecosystems. The workshop will be hosted by SANBI, DEA: Oceans and Coasts and Iziko Museum through the ACEP: Deep Forest Project.
