Nothing unfair about Madonsela report – affidavit

Publish date: 26 October 2016

There was nothing unfair about the process followed by former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela in her state capture investigation, opposition parties said in court papers yesterday, according to a Business Day report. The battle over the release of Madonsela’s report is set down for 1 November in the Gauteng High Court (Pretoria). After Madonsela’s successor Busisiwe Mkhwebane said she would not oppose President Jacob Zuma’s application to interdict its release, it has fallen to the opposition parties to fight for the report’s immediate release, notes the report. A number of affidavits were exchanged yesterday, including two from opposition parties, one from Zuma and an application to join the case by former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor (see separate report below).
