Millionaire businessman Kenneth McLeod (52) has appeared the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court after being arrested in February and charged with kidnapping, housebreaking, robbery and theft of a vehicle.

According to a report on the IoL site, Graham Nicholls (48), one of the people responsible for McLeod's arrest, claims he was kidnapped on McLeod's orders about six months ago and kept hostage for several days. McLeod denies this - and all other allegations against him - and plans to plead not guilty. In his bail application, McLeod said he was a 'respectable businessman' and that Nicholls was a drug addict who had lost everything and had borrowed R2.7m from him last year.
