Former police constable Ziyaad Domingo (22) - who went on a spending spree using a credit card belonging to a man who died in a motorcycle accident - has been found guilty in the Port Elizabeth Regional Court, says a report in The Herald.

Domingo pleaded guilty to stealing a credit card and fraud, relating to purchases made with the card belonging to NMMU lecturer Dr Calvin Blignault (30), who died in August 2010 when a car crashed into his motorcycle. Domingo's defence was that he had simply picked up the credit card and did not know the owner. The report notes Domingo, who is out on R1 000 bail, will know his fate on 29 March.
