Platinum mine to use Masodi's treated water

* Africa-focused explorer and project developer Ivanhoe Mines’ 64%-owned subsidiary Ivanplats has signed an agreement with the Mogalakwena municipality, in Limpopo, for the supply of at least 5m litres of treated water a day for 32 years, starting in 2022, from the town of Mokopane’s new Masodi treatment works. Masodi will provide most of the water the mine needs to process ore and simultaneously help to minimise Platreef’s environmental footprint, which is central to Ivanhoe’s undertaking to build some of the greenest mines in the world.
