Chief Justice heckled by lawmakers

Chief Justice Luke Malaba was heckled by opposition party lawmakers when he entered the National Assembly to swear in parliamentary Speaker Jacob Mudenda and other presiding officers. The Daily News reports that the swearing in of Mudenda was delayed by 20 minutes. MDC lawmakers labelled Maleba a ‘thief’ over the ruling against their party in the election court challenge. The Constitutional Court upheld President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s election. NewsDay reports that Zimbabwe Electoral Commission head Priscilla Chigumba, who was observing proceedings, was also heckled.
