'Cadres’ warned not to wear military uniforms

The Zambia Police Service has warned political party members not to wear military uniforms. A report on the allAfrica site notes that Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja was reacting to images circulating on social media of ‘political cadres’ wearing military regalia. ‘Political party leaders at all levels should take a lead in educating their cadres and advise them to desist from engaging in behaviour that is contrary to what the law dictates. Any police officer who will find any person wearing such attire should act by arresting and prosecuting such a person because the law is very explicit on this,’ he said.
