Six senior Ugandan police officers are facing charges of negligence of duty for failing to stop the stoning of President Yoweri Museveni’s vehicle in August last year by opposition supporters. A report on The Citizen site notes that the suspects have appeared before a police disciplinary court in Arua, north-west Kampala. One of the officers told the court that they received inadequate support from senior police officers before the incident occurred. They have all pleaded not guilty.
