A Swedish appellate court last week upheld a life sentence for a Rwandan who faced charges related to his role in the 1994 genocide. Swedish citizen Claver Berinkindi was found guilty of genocide and gross violation of international law in May 2015. A report on the Fox News site notes that he appealed the ruling, claiming his innocence. Berinkindi arrived in Sweden as a refugee in 2002 and became a citizen a decade later.
