Windhoek man convicted of murder

An Otjiwarongo man accused of raping and killing a woman are setting her body on fire has been convicted in the Windhoek High Court. Judge Christie Liebenberg convicted Ivan Hoëseb on charges of murder, theft and attempting to defeat or obstruct the course of justice related to the death of Elizabeth Ganses (26) on 31 October, 2015. The Namibian reports that Hoëseb claimed during his trial that he was attacked by the victim and he was simply defending himself. A doctor testified that the autopsy revealed that Ganses was strangled.
