Nairobi nanny convicted of manslaughter

A Kenyan caregiver has been jailed for three years for killing a child who suffered from cerebral palsy. Jackline Murunga had been working at the home of Miriam Ndung’u in Nairobi as a caregiver to two children. A report on the eNCA site notes that a pathologist's report revealed that the victim died on 27 May due to head injuries from blunt force. High Court Judge Stella Mutuku sentenced her on one count of manslaughter. At the end of her sentence, Murunga will be placed on supervised probation for two years.
