Mogadishu rocked by massive bomb

A massive bomb attack in a busy area of the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday has killed at least 230 people. BBC News reports that hundreds more were wounded when a truck packed with explosives detonated near the entrance of a hotel. President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed blamed the attack on Isis, calling it a 'heinous act'. Police spokesperson Ibrahim Mohamed said the death toll is likely to rise. Mogadishu's Mayor Thabit Abdi said the city 'is a place of respect, and if we remain united like we are today, we will surely defeat the enemy', the report states.
