Referendum law passed

Libya’s House of Representatives has passed a Constitution referendum law despite some MPs arguing that it needed an amendment first. The Libyan Observer reports that they boycotted the session when MPs voted, saying ‘it was passed in an illegal manner’. House spokesperson Abdullah Blehiq said the legislation won’t be sent to the High National Elections Commission ‘until we have an amendment done to the constitutional declaration so the law cannot be challenged in courts’.
