Grace Mugabe faces 'PhD' probe

Zimbabwe’s former First Lady could be facing arrest. The country’s corruption watchdog says it’s probing several allegations against Grace Mugabe, including reports that she is in possession of a fake degree. As previously reported in Legalbrief Today, Mugabe was awarded a PhD in Sociology from the University of Zimbabwe just two months after she enrolled. At the time, her husband, Robert Mugabe, was chancellor of all state universities. A report on the eNCA site notes that Goodson Nguni, Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission chairperson, confirmed the matter was being investigated. 'We have received a complaint from University of Zimbabwe sociology department lecturers. When we (have) finished the investigation, we will do what we are supposed to do in terms of the law,' he said.
