Former President's son aborts hunger strike

Karim Wade, son of Senegal's former President Abdoulaye Wade who is on trial, has ended his hunger strike, notes a report on the World Bulletin site.

Wade who was the head of four Ministries during his father's 2000-2012 presidency, is accused of illegally amassing a fortune of $240m, according to the report. He has denied the charges and says he has not been given a fair trial, the report states. Lawyer Madicke Niang said Wade ended the hunger strike after four days on the advice of his spiritual adviser. Full report on the World Bulletin site
