Somalia's parliamentary Speaker is urging the government to review his proposed Cabinet after 105 lawmakers presented a petition calling for changes. A report on the News24 site notes that the fragile central government is trying to assert itself following the election of Somali-American President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed last month. However, Speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari warns that the Cabinet line-up could be rejected if it isn't changed to allow more power-sharing by Somalia's powerful clans. Jawari says the line-up goes against the power-sharing formula that clans agreed on previously.
