Isaac Kgosi, the former Director-General of the Botswana’s Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) has been detained at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport on his arrival from Dubai. He is facing charges related to tax evasion and corruption. DIS director Peter Magosi said the arrest ‘is just the beginning’ and followed a lifestyle audit by the Botswana Unified Revenue Services, the DIS and police. A report on the allAfrica site notes that he said police conducted a search of Kgosi's home and have warrants to search other properties belonging to the former spy boss. Kgosi, who had been with DIS since its establishment in 2009, was fired by President Mokgweetsi Masisi in May 2018.
