A study by a security body has ranked Botswana as the country with the best police service in Africa. BBC News reports that the World Internal Security and Police Index report assessed resources given to the security services to perform their duties. Botswana was 47th in the world in an index topped by Singapore. Nigeria was ranked last on the continent and throughout the world. The study said corruption was one of the main problems undermining effective policing in Nigeria.
