Angolan VP faces graft trial in Portugal

A Portuguese court has ruled that Angola's Vice-President Manuel Vicente should face trial over allegations that he tried to bribe magistrates to shut down a corruption investigation against him. Vicente, who was the president of Angolan national oil company Sonangol at the time of the alleged crimes, is accused of bribery, money laundering and document falsification. BBC News reports that the alleged bribes were made to Portugal's former public prosecutor Orlando Figueira, who also faces charges as part of 'Operation Fizz'. Vicente has denied the allegations.
